The engineer's estimate had been a little over $24 million; the approved contract, including $500,000 in contingencies, produces a total purchase order of $21,293,934.72.
Hinkham said the contract covers roadway, water and sewer work for the corridor; monumentation and gateway elements are separate projects to be coordinated with downtown planning. Council members asked about project length (estimated 1.5–2 miles with a roundabout included) and timing; staff indicated the project is expected to start in April with completion targeted in 2027 under the 570‑day schedule.
