The Bay Minette City Council approved the FY2021-22 city budget and a bundle of community resolutions at its regular meeting on Sept. 20, 2021. Mayor Robert A. Wills presided over the meeting at City Hall.
Mayor Wills asked for a motion to adopt Resolution 0921-01, the FY2021-22 City Budget; Councilmember Pete Sellers moved to approve and Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded. The motion was recorded as unanimously carried. The transcript contains inconsistent wording about whether the budget approval was taken on a first or second reading; the council’s action was recorded as an approval in the meeting minutes.
The council also approved payables totaling $241,843.68 after Mayor Wills requested their approval; Councilmember Pete Sellers moved and Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded the motion, which the minutes record as carried unanimously.

Motions for these items were made and seconded by various councilmembers and are recorded in the minutes as unanimously carried.
The meeting also included community announcements: Mayor Wills noted the Re-enactment of the Courthouse Removal Day scheduled for Oct. 7, 2021, and guest Cheryl Clark announced a Trunk-or-Treat event in front of the Bay Minette Public Library on Oct. 23, 2021.
With no further business, Councilmember William Taylor moved to adjourn the meeting; Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded and the motion was recorded as carried. The minutes were attested by Mayor Robert A. "Bob" Wills and City Clerk Rita Diedtrich.
