Under routine business, the council approved multiple purchases and administrative actions for city departments, each by unanimous vote. The Police Department sought and received approval to purchase two additional MDIS mobile-CAD licenses from RMS for $1,989.00 (budgeted to account 1-513-3000). The council also authorized replacement of four ballistic vests for officers (vendor: Galls) at a cost of $5,200.00 (account 1-513-4700) and approved surplus of a 2010 Ford Fusion (VIN #3FADP0L35AR314107) that had been seized in a narcotics case and awarded to the department on Aug. 1, 2024.
Council members approved purchase of a 2025 Ford Explorer (lowest sealed bid: Buster Miles Ford, $39,945.00) and authorized outfitting (Simpson Emergency Lighting, $5,397.00) for police use, budgeted to account 01-513-9900. Public Works received approval to buy a set of four Nitto all-terrain tires for the department's Ford F-150 from Vulcan Tire & Automotive LLC. for $1,088.00 (account 01-5154502).
The council also adopted Ordinance M2024-11-25, a package of amendments to the City of Moody's zoning and subdivision regulations. The ordinance includes changes related to regulations for manufactured (mobile) homes (Article VII), revisions to provisions in the A-1 Agricultural District and in the B-2 General Business and B-3 Tourist Commercial districts (Article VI), establishment of a fee to partially cover staff time for processing floodplain permit applications (an amendment to Ordinance M2020-06-22), and updates to Appendix A (application forms and fees) for preliminary and final plat submissions. Council Member Lynn Taylor moved to adopt the ordinance and Council Member Nick Rutledge seconded; the motion carried by unanimous vote.
