Cedar Park planning commissioner says recurring health issues will force him to step down

A member of the Cedar Park Planning and Zoning Commission told colleagues at the Dec. 16 meeting that recurring health issues will prevent him from continuing in the post.
The commissioner, speaking without giving a name at the meeting, said, "my health issues have come back and it's not good. And I don't think I can do an adequate job here and still do what I need to do." He said he has served roughly 15–16 years and expressed pride in the commission's work on behalf of Cedar Park.
The announcement came after routine business including a unanimous vote on the consent agenda. Dustin Harry of the Development Services Department reported there were no planning items in the last two or next two City Council meetings.
Fellow commissioners responded with expressions of gratitude and personal support. One commissioner described the departing member as a mentor on planning and zoning and several offered prayers and holiday wishes.
The chair closed the meeting after remarks and adjourned.
