After adjourning to closed session, the Lemon Grove Unified School District Governing Board reported two formal actions when it reconvened June 27.
First, the board approved a 3% salary increase for confidential and management employees effective July 1, 2023. The motion was offered by Cheryl Robertson, seconded by Dr. Javier Ayala and recorded as carrying with all members voting yea.
Second, the board voted 4'1 to retain and direct legal counsel to initiate or intervene in a legal action described in the minutes as "Social Media Litigation." The motion was made by Greg Shibley and seconded by Yajaira Preciado; Dorinda Miller recorded a nay vote. The minutes state that specifics of the action and defendants will be disclosed after formal commencement unless disclosure would jeopardize service of process or settlement negotiations.
