A second motion by Dr. Javier Ayala, seconded by Dorinda Miller, to appoint Trustee Greg Shibley carried 3–2 (yea: Dr. Javier Ayala, Dorinda Miller, Greg Shibley; nay: Preciado, Robertson).
In subsequent officer votes, the board approved Dr. Javier Ayala as vice president and Dorinda Miller as board clerk; both motions passed unanimously. The motions and roll-call results were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The officer elections came amid routine district business, including adoption of the calendar and meeting rules for 2023 and appointments of trustees to standing and advisory committees.
