Lemon Grove board appoints new middle school principal, approves waivers and consent agenda

In open session the board approved two variable-term waiver requests — one for Reynolds and one for Adams — and a revised schedule of regular board meetings for 2023. The motion to approve the Reynolds waiver was made by Greg Shibley and seconded by Cheryl Robertson; the Adams waiver was moved by Cheryl Robertson and seconded by Yajaira Preciado. The revision to the 2023 meeting schedule was moved by Cheryl Robertson and seconded by Dr. Javier Ayala. All motions carried unanimously.
The board also approved a broad consent agenda that included minutes, personnel action reports, ratification of contracts and purchase orders, contract renewals and new contracts, job description updates and several grant and resolution approvals. Consent Agenda item 7.BB (Notice of Completion: CUPCCAA Bid 2022-23-07 — Flooring Replacement at Various Sites) was pulled from the consent agenda for separate consideration. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Dr. Javier Ayala and carried with a unanimous vote.
