Lemon Grove trustees elect 2024 officers and assign committee rosters

At its Dec. 12 meeting the Lemon Grove School District Governing Board elected officers for the 2023–24 period and approved a slate of committee assignments and other governance items.
By unanimous vote the board elected Trustee Dr. Javier Ayala as President, Trustee Dorinda Miller as Vice President and Trustee Yajaira Preciado as Clerk for the period covering Dec. 12, 2023 through Dec. 10, 2024. The board also approved committee assignments for trustees to represent the district on multiple standing committees, including City‑School District Collaboration, the Committee on African American Student Achievement and Success (CAASAS), District Advisory Committee (DAC), DELAC, Early Learning, Employee Wellness and Safety, PTA Council, Special Education Advisory Committee, and Student Health and Wellness. Motions for these actions were recorded and carried unanimously.
The board further approved a revised schedule of regular meetings for 2024 and adopted Meeting Information and Rules for the 2024 calendar year; the rules will return amended for legal counsel review as noted in the minutes. The board also approved an amended Board Policy 3100 (Budget) and a process for filling any board vacancy moving forward.
These governance actions were taken by recorded motions and will be reflected in the board’s 2024 calendar and committee rosters.
