Later in the meeting, the board adopted Resolution 2022-23-29, recognizing June 2023 as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month; Cynthia Jurado spoke in support of the Pride Month resolution during the discussion. The board also adopted Resolution 2022-23-30 recognizing June 19, 2023, as Juneteenth. Both resolutions passed with recorded yea votes from all five board members.
The board’s roll-call approvals for the ICOC report and both resolutions were recorded in open session after the meeting returned from closed session. No formal contentious debate or amendments to the resolutions were recorded in the public transcript; each motion carried as presented.
