The Redevelopment Agency of Taylorsville City unanimously adopted a tentative balanced budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026, during a May 7 meeting at Taylorsville City Hall.
Scott Harrington, the agency's chief financial officer and assistant city administrator, presented the budget and said projected expenses for the year are $9,542,000 and that tax revenues are continuing to outperform earlier estimates. "We budget conservatively so that we can be in balance," Harrington said, adding the agency may make a mid-year adjustment if needed.
The agency's materials break out spending by area; during questions Board Member Bob Knudsen asked about a "$2.5" entry under infrastructure improvements. Harrington said that amount is intended for work on Bangerter Highway and 5400 South. The transcript did not specify the monetary unit for the "$2.5" line item.
Bob Knudsen moved to tentatively adopt RDA Resolution No. 25-02; Board Chair Meredith Harker seconded. City Recorder Jamie Brooks called a roll-call vote. The tally recorded Ernest Burgess, Anna Barbieri, Bob Knudsen, Curt Cochran and Meredith Harker voting yes; the motion passed unanimously.
In the same meeting the board approved the minutes from the Feb. 5, 2025 meeting. Curt Cochran moved to approve the minutes; Knudsen seconded, and the board approved the motion by the same roll-call vote.
Board Chair Meredith Harker opened and closed the brief meeting; she noted there were no other matters for the RDA to consider. The meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m.
