Long Range Planner Mark McGrath summarized the draft plan's structure, the addition of Public Safety as a sixth guiding principle, and four fundamental strategies that will guide updates to land use, transportation and community character policies. He told commissioners the Land Use chapter aims to "accommodate an appropriate share of regional growth" and outlined an "5% strategy" designed to contain 90% of Taylorsville's future growth within roughly 5% of the city's footprint.
