The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 6 adopted its 2026 bylaws, approved accounts payable totaling $229,387.17 and payroll of $122,828.46, reappointed Amy Bishop as interim county treasurer and confirmed a slate of board and committee assignments for the year.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch, chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, moved to adopt the 2026 Board of Commissioners bylaws under the County Code and the Act of Aug. 9, 1955 (16 Purdon). The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Commissioner Steven L. Wible, vice-chairman, and Commissioner Hervey P. Hann joined the approval.
The board approved accounts payable dated Jan. 6, 2026 in the amount of $229,387.17. The meeting record lists fund-level allocations including $53,157.03 to the General Fund, $75,662.44 to Capital Projects, $28,783.34 to Debt Service and smaller amounts across special funds (total shown in minutes: $229,387.17). Commissioners also approved payroll totaling $122,828.46.
Commissioner Wible moved to approve reappointments to the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreation Authority, reappointing Eric Weisbrod (term to Jan. 1, 2029), Paul Johnston (term to Jan. 6, 2030) and Greg Henry (term to Jan. 5, 2031) to stagger terms. Commissioner Hann moved to reappoint county officers for 2026, including Solicitor Jim Stein (DSS Law), Chief Clerk Stacey M. Shives, Tax Claim Bureau Director Amy Bishop, Chief Assessor Melissa Gordon, Director of Veterans' Affairs Richard Newman and county engineers Keller Engineers and CES Engineering; the slate carried.
Commissioner Wible moved to reappoint Amy Bishop as Interim County Treasurer for 2026; that reappointment was approved. The transcript notes that Interim Treasurer Bishop and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed met with the commissioners to provide updates to the Treasurer's Office, but it does not record details of those updates.
The board designated committee and board assignments for 2026.
