Fulton County OKs replacement of two dispatch clocks, regional support and a two‑year hazmat agreement

Fulton County Commissioners on Dec. 23 approved multiple public‑safety contracts aimed at updating emergency‑dispatch equipment and maintaining hazmat team support.

Brian Barton, EMA/911 Director, told commissioners that the dispatch clocks in the 911 center are more than 20 years old and in need of replacement. Commissioners approved a ComPros quote for two dispatch clocks — hardware and installation — in the amount of $4,940.00. Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to approve the purchase; the motion carried with all in favor.

Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the 2026 Mission Critical Partners Regional Support Contract for Professional Services; Barton told the board the contract is fully grant funded, and the commissioners approved it.

On hazardous material response, Commissioner Bunch moved to approve a two‑year Hazmat Team agreement with McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc., with payments of $2,500 for fiscal year 2026 and $7,500 for fiscal year 2027. The motion carried unanimously.

Why it matters: replacing aging dispatch hardware and retaining regional support are intended to maintain continuity of emergency communications and field response capacity. The hazmat agreement secures external specialist support and funding commitments for the coming two fiscal years.

Next steps: procurement and installation of the dispatch clocks will proceed under EMA/911 supervision; the Mission Critical Partners contract and the McCutcheon agreement will be executed and funded per the terms approved by the commissioners.
