Fulton County adopts 2026 budget, holds tax rate steady

Fulton County commissioners adopted the county's proposed 2026 budget at their Dec. 30 meeting and approved a Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution that keeps county tax rates unchanged for fiscal year 2026. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, which the board approved unanimously.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told commissioners there were no changes to the proposed budget since its public advertisement. Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb presented the budget prior to the vote. Commissioners also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston and approved accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95).
The board voted to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for the 2026 fiscal year by approving an agreement; the firm will be formally appointed at the county's Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The board's actions finalized the county's fiscal plan for 2026 and completed routine end-of-year financial approvals.
