The Deuel County Planning Commission on Feb. 9 voted to recommend approval of the plat for Lot 1B of Rymerson Farm Second Addition in Blom Township, noting a revision that reduced the lot size by about 3.34 acres and a lease continuing a machine shed on the property. The motion to recommend the plat passed unanimously.
During public comment the board also discussed next steps on a potential moratorium related to power plants; State's Attorney Craig Evenson and Zoning Officer Jodi Theisen confirmed a special joint meeting with the Deuel County Commissioners is scheduled for March 3, 2026, at which the Planning Commission will provide its formal recommendation. Theisen also noted an appeal hearing related to prior proceedings is scheduled for Feb. 11.
The board adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m. The Findings of Fact and related documents are on file with the Zoning Office.
