Nelson County accepts courtroom improvement grant and approves court services contract

Nelson County commissioners on Feb. 8 accepted a Court Facilities Improvement Grant to fund courtroom carpet and painting and authorized a Court Services Contract with the State Court Administrator that provides clerk of district court services.
Erin Fossen told the board the grant will be used to install carpet and paint courtroom walls at the Nelson County Courthouse. The board voted to proceed with the Court Services Contract, which outlines the provision of clerk of district court services under state administrative arrangements.
The motions passed unanimously; staff will implement courtroom improvements and coordinate with the State Court Administrator per contract terms.
