Bay Minette City Council approves $257,619.01 in payables, adopts resolution and hears chamber annual report

The City Council of the City of Bay Minette met on March 1, 2021, and unanimously approved a series of routine items, including city payables totaling $257,619.01 and a training request for Court Magistrate Heather Ford costing $236.55.
Mayor Robert A. Wills called the meeting to order, gave the invocation and presided over roll call; Councilmember William Taylor led the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilmembers Pete Sellers, Mike Phillips, Matt Franklin, William Taylor and Shannon Clemmons were present, along with city staff and guests.
The council approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Feb. 17, 2021 meeting and work session and the requested training for Heather Ford to attend a regional meeting in Mobile on May 6, 2021 at a cost of $236.55. Councilmember Pete Sellers moved approval of the consent agenda; Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Councilmember Mike Phillips moved to approve city payables in the amount of $257,619.01; Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
The council adopted Resolution Number 0321-01 regarding the North Baldwin Ecumenical Association, Inc. at the request of Mayor Wills. Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved approval; Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Wills also asked to reschedule the regularly scheduled Monday, April 5, 2021 council meeting to Thursday, April 1, 2021. Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved the change; Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
During other business, Councilmember Mike Phillips asked for an update on a planned meeting with Baldwin County about permitting. Ashley Jones-Davis of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce presented the council with the Chamber’s annual report and the 2021 Discover North Baldwin magazine and invited council members to the Chamber’s 76th Annual Meeting and Dinner.
With no further business, Councilmember William Taylor moved to adjourn; Councilmember Mike Phillips seconded and the meeting was adjourned. The city recorded no dissenting votes on the motions taken at the March 1 meeting.
