Sauk County committee approves depository resolution, honors longtime employee and clears major invoices

The Sauk County Finance, Personnel & Insurance Committee on Feb. 11 approved a package of financial actions, including a resolution designating county depositories, recognition of a long‑serving employee and the authorization of multiple invoice payments and a tax‑certificate write‑off.

Chair Lynn Eberl opened the meeting at 4:00 p.m. and the committee first adopted the meeting agenda and the minutes from Jan. 14, 2026. Staff member Jessica Machovec presented a resolution to designate county depositories and establish related investment procedures; Committee member Brandon Lohr moved approval, Terry Spencer seconded, and the motion carried.

Staff member Stephanie Beardsley introduced a resolution honoring Lynn Horkan for more than 29 years of service; Committee member Tim McCumber moved approval, Sheila Carver seconded, and the committee approved the resolution.

Beardsley also presented quarterly accounts receivable reports for multiple county units (Clerk of Courts, Health Care Center, Highway and Human Services) and county financial reports through December 2025.

On departmental payments and write‑offs, the committee approved Personnel and Insurance Department invoices totaling $3,893.64 (motion by Gaile Burchill, seconded by Brandon Lohr). The Treasurer’s Department invoices of $171,232.72 were approved on a motion by Tim McCumber, seconded by Terry Spencer. The committee approved an 11th‑year write‑off of tax certificates totaling $8,851.08 on a motion by McCumber, seconded by Andrea Lombard. The Accounting Department invoices — $160,150.00 for 2026 and $65.40 for 2025 — were approved on a motion by Terry Spencer, seconded by Gaile Burchill.

Committee payments of $13,226.17 were approved (motion by Sheila Carver, seconded by Aaron Evert). The meeting was adjourned at 4:52 p.m. on a motion by Brandon Lohr, seconded by Aaron Evert.
