County opens bids for Buckhannon-Upshur tennis-court resurfacing; CEC to issue recommendation March 12

At 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 County Administrator Tabatha R. Perry and Ryan Haws of CEC opened and read aloud five bid submissions for the Buckhannon-Upshur Recreational Park tennis court resurfacing project. The project is supported by the West Virginia Land and Water Conservation Fund.
Bids received (base bid with alternatives; total): Veritas Contracting (Fairmont) — base $298,170.00, alternatives $164,376.00, total $462,546.00; CK Services, LLL (Fairmont) — base $306,175.25, alternatives $191,777.00, total $497,952.25; Vasco Sports Contractors (Massillon, Ohio) — base $338,250.00, alternatives $203,000.00, total $541,250.00; Wolfe Landscapes Plus (Morgantown) — base $352,950.00, alternatives $179,910.00, total $532,860.00; Exterior Services SWV, Inc. (Bluefield) — base $341,125.00, alternatives $202,000.00, total $543,125.00.
Perry said CEC will take the bid packets to its office for a detailed review of documents and dates, produce a certified bid table, and return with a recommendation to the commission at its March 12 meeting. No contract award was made at the Feb. 26 meeting.
