A joint special meeting of the Lemon Grove School Board and the Lemon Grove City Council on July 21, 2021, opened at 6:00 p.m. and established quorums for both bodies before proceeding through a brief docket of procedural business and two listed discussion items.
During the public comment period, Joe Smith, a resident, told the boards he would "like to see more brought back to the facilities as soon as health and safety protocols make it possible." He also urged officials to "establish a vendor list for outside agencies to partner [for] use of facilities," saying such a list would help outside organizations partner with the district and city to resume services.
The Lemon Grove School Board approved its meeting agenda on a motion by School Board member Timothy Shaw, seconded by School Board member Greg Shibley. The minutes record the motion as carried with Yajaira Preciado, Cheryl Robertson, Timothy Shaw and Greg Shibley voting yea.
The Lemon Grove City Council likewise approved its agenda on a motion by Council member George Gastil, seconded by Council member Jerry Jones; George Gastil, Jerry Jones, Liana LeBaron and Raquel Vasquez are recorded as voting yea.
