Lemon Grove board approves spending plan, calendars, personnel changes and contracts

At its May 11 meeting the Lemon Grove School District Governing Board approved a slate of action and consent items covering grants, calendars, personnel and contracts.
On motions that passed unanimously, the board approved the countywide plan for serving expelled pupils; the Expanded Learning Grant spending plan; and revised district calendars. Personnel approvals included the 2020–2021 Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators, a revised job description for School Psychologist, and a Pay Rate Index increase for a Help Desk Technician. The board also awarded two contracts: interior painting at Vista La Mesa Academy and Mount Vernon School to Hue Masters Paint Company (CUPCCAA Bid #2020-21-05) and security window shades at Lemon Grove Academy Elementary to Budget Blinds (CUPCCAA Bid #2020-21-06).
The consent agenda was approved as amended (motion by Timothy Shaw, second Cheryl Robertson). Items on the consent agenda included personnel action reports, prior meeting minutes, purchase orders and commercial warrants, ratification of contracts and piggyback contracts, furniture purchases, the Williams Uniform Complaint Procedure quarterly reports for multiple quarterly periods, and interdistrict attendance agreements with Escondido Union, San Ysidro and Vista Unified school districts. The board also approved gifts pulled for separate action: a $500 donation from Mr. Somo for the Monterey Heights Garden Project and $203.24 in employee contributions administered through United Way (from Solar Turbines and UPS). The board further approved a memorandum of understanding with High Tech High for the 2020 intern teacher credentialing program.
Trustees voting yes were Larry Loschen, Yajaira Preciado, Cheryl Robertson, Timothy Shaw and Greg Shibley. Motions and seconds were recorded in the minutes for each item where provided.
