Lemon Grove board upholds student expulsion, approves safety plans, calendar and staff-pay agreement

The Lemon Grove Governing Board on Feb. 8 returned from closed session and unanimously upheld an administrative hearing panel's decision to expel a student in case 2122-780, the board reported. The vote on the expulsion was 5-0.
Following the closed-session report, the board approved a slate of administrative and personnel matters. Trustees voted unanimously to approve school safety plans and to adopt the 2022-23 student calendar. The board also approved a revised job description for a Parent Volunteer Coordinator and ratified a memorandum of understanding with the California School Employees Association to permit monthly salary payments, with motions and second recorded for each item.
Trustees approved Resolution 2021-22-08 to continue authority to hold virtual meetings through March 9, 2022. The board also accepted the 2020-2021 independent financial audit.
All action items recorded in the transcript carried by recorded 5-0 votes. Motions and vote records in the meeting minutes show trustees Dr. Javier Ayala, Yajaira Preciado, Cheryl Robertson, Timothy Shaw and Greg Shibley voting in favor of the motions listed.
