The Lemon Grove School District Governing Board on May 31 authorized the issuance of Certificates of Participation in an amount not to exceed $7,600,000 and approved a package of personnel and contract actions, the board said.
The financing authorization — Resolution No. 2021-22-32 — passed unanimously on a motion by Trustee Timothy Shaw, seconded by Trustee Cheryl Robertson. The resolution authorizes distribution of an official statement and execution of documents needed to deliver the certificates of participation, which the district described at the meeting as financing to support district needs.

The board approved a Notice of Release and Reassignment for a certificated administrator (case ID 2021-22-3328); the motion was made by Trustee Cheryl Robertson and seconded by Trustee Timothy Shaw and carried 5–0. The board also approved salary and benefit adjustments for Classified Management, Certificated Management and Confidential Classified employees: a 1% off-schedule increase for 2021–22 and a 2.5% on-schedule increase for 2022–23, with employer-paid (employee-only) Kaiser Permanente benefits; that motion passed 5–0 on a motion by Trustee Greg Shibley, seconded by Trustee Timothy Shaw. The board approved a settlement in OAH Case #2022010690 (motion by Cheryl Robertson, second by Greg Shibley; carried 5–0).
During the public portion of the meeting the board approved two new job descriptions — Custodial and Receiving Services Supervisor and Maintenance Services Supervisor — and approved the Classified Management salary schedule; each motion carried unanimously. The board also approved a consent agenda that included awarding low CUPCCAA bids to Conan Construction, Inc. and GEM Industrial Electric, Inc.; a piggyback bid and quote approvals for Creative Bus Sales, Inc.; and contract amendments with RO Health for para-professional, social worker, and therapy services (Registered Behavior Technician and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant).
Public comment included a brief announcement by Ms. Tanya Harris about a community 3-on-3 basketball tournament scheduled for June 11, 2022, at the Lemon Grove Recreation Center to celebrate Trevon Harris; the event will feature a signing of the children’s book "Kicks" by Reggie Brown.
