Cedar County supervisors set budget hearing, schedule rezoning hearings and approve claims

Supervisor Gaul moved to approve the meeting agenda, a motion seconded by Supervisor Bixler and adopted unanimously. Later, the board approved Claim Disbursements #445002–#445120 paid Feb. 26, 2026 (motion by Supervisor Bixler; Ayes: All).
The board set a public hearing on the FY26/27 Proposed Property Tax Levy for 8:15 a.m. on March 24, 2026 after a motion by Supervisor Gaul that was seconded by Supervisor Bixler and adopted unanimously. The hearing will allow residents to comment on the proposed levy prior to final budget action.
Supervisors also set public hearings for a rezoning petition filed by Terry Jamison of 254 Adams Ave., Lisbon. The petition requests changing an existing approximately 1.97-acre parcel from A-1 Agricultural District to AR-1 Agricultural-Recreational District to permit construction of a single-family dwelling; hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on March 24 and March 31, 2026 (motion by Supervisor Kaufmann; second Sup. Gaul; Ayes: All).
The board acknowledged correspondence including a voluntary resignation notice from part-time custodian Jeanne Frahm-Hahn effective March 12, 2026, and multiple Manure Management annual updates submitted for local operations. The board also noted a handwritten disbursement (#445121) issued Feb. 27, 2026 to the Cedar County Treasurer for Benefits, Inc. in the amount of $10,234.77 for self-funded medical claims.
The board approved its minutes of Feb. 27, 2026 (motion by Supervisor Kaufmann; Ayes: All; Abstain: Bell, Bixler), and the meeting record shows supervisors reported on recent outreach and committee meetings before turning back to work on the county Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:55 a.m.; the board is scheduled to meet next on March 10, 2026.
