Following the presentation and discussion, the board voted to authorize the County Clerk to advertise for mowing of abandoned cemeteries (motion: Zabrocki; second: Hain). The motion carried with affirmative votes from Commissioners Zabrocki, Hain, Pekarek, Schmieding and Chairperson Ahmic.
The board’s action authorizes the clerk’s office to solicit bids or quotes for mowing services; the minutes did not specify contract terms, budget amounts or exact timelines for mowing work. The commissioners also indicated they will continue coordination with community groups and county staff to implement the project phases described by Dolan.
Next steps: a virtual coordination meeting with the Extension office will be scheduled to refine responsibilities and timing, and the clerk’s office will publish the mowing advertisement as authorized by the board.
