Bay Minette council approves consent agenda, payables and two resolutions

The Bay Minette City Council met at City Hall on Nov. 16, 2020 and approved routine municipal business, including a consent agenda, payment of city bills and two formal resolutions.
Mayor Robert A. Wills called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and roll call confirmed the attendance of Councilmembers Pete Sellers, Mike Phillips, Matt Franklin, William Taylor and Shannon Clemmons. Councilmember William Taylor gave the invocation and members of Webelo's Pack 76 led the Pledge of Allegiance; the mayor invited the Webelo's to introduce themselves and ask questions.
The council approved the consent agenda, which included: (a) approval of the Nov. 2, 2020 meeting minutes; (b) a training request for Police Officer Brandon Thompson to attend the APOSTC Refresher Academy in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 29, Dec. 4, Dec. 6 and Dec. 11, 2020 at a cost of $2,272.00; and (c) routine monthly reports. Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
On finance matters, the council approved payables totaling $122,521.24. Councilmember Mike Phillips moved for approval; Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also granted an event permit to Shriner Hospitals for Children for a paper sale scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved to approve the permit; Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
During the meeting the council adopted two resolutions. Mayor Wills presented Resolution No. 1120-10, FY 2021 Safe Workplace Guidelines; Councilmember Mike Phillips moved to adopt the resolution, Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council then considered Resolution No. 1120-11 concerning a One Time Incentive; Councilmember Matt Franklin moved to adopt, Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
With no further business, Councilmember William Taylor moved to adjourn; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the meeting was adjourned.
