Moody City Council approves routine purchases, proclaims April 11 "411 DAY"

Mayor Joe Lee called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and led procedural business including roll call (Council Member Lynn Taylor was absent). Council Member Nick Rutledge moved to approve the published agenda; Council Member Ellis Key seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Council members then approved the proclamation and each procurement item on the consent-style agenda. The council approved a tamper switch replacement for the Civic Center fire alarm (Prestige Alarm, $1,261.00; budget 01-526-2504); a rope-ladder replacement for the Splash Pad (Incord, $8,389.07; Capital Projects); and infield mix for the ballpark (Athletic Field Supply, $3,720.00; 01-551-1000). Council also approved a sound-system upgrade for the Civic Center gym (Elite AV, $12,500.00; Capital Projects).
City fleet and equipment items approved included repairs to city vehicles (car #357: Moody Auto, $1,329.00; car #350: Moody Auto, $1,182.10; car #355: Moody Auto, $1,035.00; transmission repair for car #343: AAMCO, $5,235.00; budgeted accounts noted in meeting record), and a replacement computer for the Chief of Police office (ALW Tech, $1,257.88; 01-513-2501). The council also authorized purchases of uniforms (Galls, $1,100.00; 01-514-4700), station supplies (SAM'S, $1,000.00; 01-514-4900) and an IO medical drill (Teleflex, $650.00; 01-514-5200).
Each motion was made and seconded as recorded in the minutes (motions were moved by members including Matt Morris, Nick Rutledge, Ellis Key and Linda Crowe) and recorded as carrying by unanimous vote of those present. The minutes note Council Member Lynn Taylor as absent. No public debate or opposing votes were recorded on the items.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 p.m. The minutes were subsequently approved and signed on April 10, 2023, by Mayor Joe Lee and attested by Tracy L. Patterson, City Clerk.
