Staff said the event will include USO military displays along Atlantic Avenue, a Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo with expanded seating, vendor and sponsorship villages, and community programming across the oceanfront parks. The CVB will create a landing page and run paid digital advertising aimed at visitors and residents; staff expects the weekend to draw more than 10,000 people and said Atlantic Avenue between 17th and 21st Streets will be closed Friday morning through Sunday evening for load‑in and teardown.
Staff told council that the USO and partners are covering a significant portion of programming costs, that some events will be ticketed and that others will be free and open to the public; portions of the event programming that align with tourism will use TIP funds. Council members responded positively and described the event as a strong complement to regional marketing and the city’s military heritage.
