Public Works and Utilities Director Dusty Wentz said the repair includes removing 10 inches of existing surface, installing geotextile fabric, placing 4 inches of intermediate base and 3 inches of surface‑course asphalt to accommodate heavy traffic and the road’s steep grade. Bids received were Evans Construction at $46,240 and J. T. Russell and Sons at $58,020; Precision Paving submitted no bid.
Council approved staff’s recommendation to award the work to Evans Construction and to hold a 10 percent contingency ($4,624) for unforeseen issues, bringing the total project authorization to $50,864. Council also approved the associated budget ordinance amendment unanimously.
