Council certifies tax levies, declines hearing on new liquor license; three motions pass

Council Member Sylvester moved for adoption and Council Member Clark seconded; the measure was described in the meeting as a routine certification following the budget commission's determination and was adopted by the council. The clerk earlier reported the resolution had been posted as required.
The council also voted to direct the Clerk of Council to notify the Ohio Division of Liquor Control that the city does not request a hearing on a new liquor license application for 'Super Mercado, me Benedicion LLC.' Mayor Aaron Brown said the police department had no reason to oppose issuance of the permit. That vote was taken by voice and recorded as passing.
Finally, the council accepted the general fund summary report contained in departmental reports by voice vote. The meeting recorded unanimous approval on the day's formal actions.
The council adjourned after closing remarks and encouragement for residents to stay engaged with boards and commissions.
