Town hears ArcGIS demonstration for cemetery and utility mapping

A vendor demonstrated how a hosted ArcGIS Online system could centralize Kanarraville’s cemetery maps and add templates for water infrastructure, meters and work-order management, offering one-time migration and ongoing administrative support.

The presenter (identified in the transcript as Speaker 5) said SUU’s maps give the town a strong foundation but lack utility-focused templates and backups. The vendor described a workflow that would attach subdivision plats and 'as-built' pages to linework, enable mobile workers to edit meters and time-stamp field work, and produce custom reports for the Utah State Cemetery database.

Town Clerk Heidi (Speaker 2) and several board members asked about licensing. The vendor said the town would retain Esri licensing through its existing cemetery account; the vendor’s service would include a one-time migration fee and a proposed $400 annual administrative fee for backups, support and hosting of templates. The presenter agreed to email a price chart and Esri licensing links for review.

Board members also asked technical questions about the number and type of licenses (admin, mobile worker, contributor, viewer) and whether the vendor would replace or augment the town’s existing ArcGIS deployment; the vendor said the product would be added to the town’s ArcGIS environment rather than replace it. The presenter offered to meet with staff and to reuse SUU layers to reduce migration cost.

Next steps: the vendor will provide pricing and license details by email and the town clerk will circulate that information to board members for a decision at a later meeting.
