Camp Verde council censures Planning and Zoning commissioner, removes her as vice chair

On Feb. 25, 2026, the Camp Verde Town Council voted unanimously to issue a formal public censure of Planning and Zoning Commissioner Renee Hall and to remove her from the commission's vice chair position.
Mayor Marie Moore told the council it had received complaints about Hall's conduct and public communications outside official meetings and said "certain statements directed to our members of the public were inconsistent with the standards of professionalism, integrity, fairness and respect expected of appointed officials serving this community." Moore said conduct that undermines public participation or disrupts the commission's work must be addressed to preserve the integrity of proceedings.
Councilor Robert Foreman moved to accept the public censure and remove Hall from the vice chair position; Councilor Patricia Seybold seconded the motion. A roll-call vote recorded all seven councilmembers—Councilor Brian Bolton, Councilor Robert Foreman, Councilor Robin Godwin, Councilor Jessie Murdock, Councilor Patricia Seybold, Vice Mayor Wendy Escoffier and Mayor Marie Moore—as voting "aye." The motion carried 7-0. Mayor Moore stated the removal is effective immediately and that Commissioner Hall may continue to serve as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The council adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
