Fulton County adopts 2026 budget and approves tax levy with no tax increase

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted the county’s proposed 2026 budget and approved the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026 without increasing taxes, the board said at its Dec. 30 meeting.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch convened the meeting. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and CFO Mike Lamb presented the proposed budget; Reed told commissioners there were no changes since the public advertisement. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, noting that the board set the levy for the coming fiscal year with no tax increase. That motion also passed unanimously.
The board approved routine financial items during the same meeting: a motion to approve account payables dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87, including $98,764.92 from the General Fund and $14,148.95 from Debt Service. HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the December 2025 Pension Report; Commissioner Wible moved to approve the report as presented and the motion carried.
The county said the adopted budget takes effect for fiscal year 2026. The board did not provide a line-item budget total in the meeting minutes.
