Fulton County approves HAVA-funded keycard and camera upgrades for election offices

LISBURG, Fulton County — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 9 approved installation of a keycard/fob entry system and additional security cameras for the county Voter Registration/Election Office and the Commissioners' Office, to be funded by the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant.

Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle presented the grant discussion and a TelePlus quote. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to accept the TelePlus quote and to fund the keycard/fob installation and camera work out of the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant for a total of $3,000.00; the motion carried with all present commissioners voting in favor.

Elect IT technician Rick Grissinger was identified to handle camera installation above both office doors. The county did not record any opposing votes or amendments. The commissioners recorded the motion as a routine, unanimous approval.

The approval covers a keycard/fob entry installation on the Voter Registration/Election Office door and installation of separate cameras above the Commissioners' Office and the Voter Registration/Election Office doors. The county will use HAVA grant funds specifically allocated for election security; no local match or additional county funding was specified in the record.
