Pendleton County Commission approves payouts, appointments and moves forward on FY2027 budget

On a motion by Commissioner Roger Dahmer the board unanimously approved the minutes from the February 17, 2026 meeting. The Commission then approved a payout for the Courthouse Annex in the amount of $407,856.92; the minutes noted no significant construction delays.
The Commission confirmed several estate settlements and clerk‑authorized administrator appointments and approved allowances payable across funds: General County Fund checks ($18,147.37); Coal Severance Fund ($313.08); Justice Fines Fund ($20,000.00); Magistrate Court Fund ($24.00); 911 Fund checks ($2,507.41); Parks & Recreation Fund checks ($2,017.82); and an American Rescue Plan Fund disbursement ($663.50).
Commissioners unanimously appointed Scott Cesna to the EDA and SRRDA boards to replace Jeff Davis, approved the West Virginia Extension Memorandum of Agreement with Pendleton County, and recessed at noon to recognize seven students who participated in the statewide I Voted! Sticker contest (countywide first place winner: Kyley Hedrick).
The board reconvened at 12:45 p.m. and continued work on the fiscal year 2027 budget; County Clerk Elise White informed the Commission the county will move from a Class IV to a Class III classification. The meeting concluded with a unanimous motion to adjourn until Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
