Items approved included: the purchase of a FoldAR single fold pistol from Gulf Coast Tactical for $2,000 (account 01‑513‑4400); a Goodyear tire for the equipment trailer for $589.52 (account 01‑515‑2504); a driveshaft for a 10‑ft bush hog from Coblentz Equipment Co. for $1,400 (account 01‑515‑2003); station supplies from Sam’s for $1,500 (budgeted item 01‑514‑4900); annual preventive maintenance and a ladder inspection with Emergency Equipment Professionals for $7,450 (budgeted 01‑514‑4502); and training and educational supplies from multiple suppliers for $3,500 (budgeted 01‑514‑1500). Each procurement motion was moved and seconded by council members as recorded in the minutes and carried by unanimous vote.
Separately, the council adopted Resolution R2022‑08‑08 to RSA for a one‑time lump‑sum benefit to the City of Moody retirees pursuant to Alabama Act #2022‑229. The minutes record the cost of the retiree benefit at $9,502 to be funded through the General Fund Retirement Account; Council Member Linda Crowe moved for approval and Nick Rutledge seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The minutes show that approval of the July 25 minutes included one abstention (Matt Morris) but that all other motions recorded at the Aug. 8 meeting passed with unanimous AYE votes. Mayor Joe Lee moved to close the meeting at 6:13 p.m., and the meeting was adjourned.
