Woodson County adopts Solid Waste Operation and Closure Plan (Resolution 26-04)

Woodson County commissioners adopted Resolution 26-04 on Feb. 17, 2026, approving the Solid Waste Operation Plan and Closure Plan for the Woodson County Municipal Solid Waste and Transfer Station.
The plan was presented to the board by David Waddell, who said operations are going well. Commissioner Jerry Sedlacek moved to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Kevin Stuber seconded the motion, which passed by voice vote.
County Counselor Bret Heim reviewed the resolution and provided recommendations to the board before the vote. Commissioners also discussed related operational matters, including potential vehicle availability once the Sheriff's Office takes delivery of new vehicles, a detail raised during the Solid Waste presentation.
Solid Waste staff indicated they will honor the current uniform agreement with Unifirst through its expiration on April 29, 2026, but do not plan to renew that contract. The board said it will invite the Fair Board president to a future meeting to discuss the Fair Board/Sheep Sale lease agreement, an item that commissioners discussed in the context of facilities and operations.
