Newton auditors give city an unqualified opinion; finance office earns 36th CAFR award

Finance Director Vickie Thomas told the council that Newton had received the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report award for FY2020, marking the 36th consecutive year the city earned the recognition. Mayor Pro Tem John Stiver and other council members thanked Thomas and her team for their work.
No formal council action was required on the audit presentation. The audit and CAFR award were entered into the record as items on file with the city clerk.
