Newton adopts 10-year Capital Improvement Plan after 6–1 council vote

Council Member Ed Sain moved to adopt the CIP and Council Member Jerry Hodge seconded. The minutes record that Mayor Pro Tem John Stiver and Council Members Ed Sain, Jerry Hodge, Jody Dixon and Anne Wepner voted in favor and Council Member Beverly Danner voted against the adoption; the motion was recorded as RESOLVED: the CIP be adopted.
Council thanked staff for their work on presenting what was described as a conservative budget approach. The minutes do not record further debate or vote rationale beyond the roll call of votes.
