Newton City Council hears project updates, unanimously approves minutes and consent agenda

During Mayor and Council comments, Council Member Jerry Hodge reported on the Western Piedmont Council of Governments Policy Board and the Transportation Committee. Later, by motion of Council Member Ed Sain and a second from Mayor Pro Tem John Stiver, the council entered a closed session under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6); the minutes state no action was taken in closed session. The council returned to open session and then adjourned on a motion by Council Member Jody Dixon, seconded by Council Member Ed Sain.
