Board of Equalization approves homestead-exemption corrections after Department of Revenue audits

The Deuel County Board of Equalization met on March 3 and approved a set of tax-list corrections presented by County Assessor Michele Bartlett that reflected Department of Revenue audit findings.
Assessor Bartlett described the corrections by parcel and tax year: for Tax Year 2022, parcel 0002447.00 (No. 916) had its homestead exemption changed from 100% to 0%; parcel 0000972.00 (No. 917) changed from 100% to 60%; parcel 0001083.00 (No. 918) changed from 10% to 0%; and parcel 0000350.00 (No. 919) changed from 80% to 0%. For Tax Year 2023, parcel 0000972.00 (No. 920) had its homestead exemption changed from 100% to 20%.
Commissioner William Klingman moved to approve the tax-list corrections and Commissioner Jean Timm seconded; the motion carried with Commissioners Reichman, Klingman and Timm voting aye. The Board of Equalization adjourned and the regular meeting reconvened at 8:40 a.m.
