Fulton County adopts 2026 budget, holds tax rate steady

Hann moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, with no increase in taxes for 2026. All motions were approved "all in favor."
County fiscal officials told the board there were no substantive changes to the proposed budget after its public advertisement. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed reported the advertised budget remained unchanged when presented for final adoption; CFO Mike Lamb was listed as presenting the budget. The meeting minutes do not specify any roll-call tally beyond the record "all in favor."
The board also approved routine fiscal items earlier in the meeting, including accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025, totaling $112,913.87 and the December 2025 pension report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
Commissioners approved an agreement to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for fiscal year 2026 and plan to formally appoint the firm at the board's Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. That appointment and the adopted budget position the county for the coming fiscal year without raising property taxes.
The board adjourned at 11:15 a.m. following an executive session on personnel matters earlier in the morning.
