Fulton County approves HR manual amendment proposal and grants Veterans Affairs director full-time status

Wible made the motion to accept Huston’s proposal and the board voted unanimously to approve it; Huston was requested to return with finalized language for official adoption at a later date.
In related personnel action, the board approved a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann to permit Veterans Affairs Director Richard Newman to work the equivalent of 30 hours per week, qualifying him as a full-time employee with benefits. The minutes state the increased hours reflect additional duties assigned by the state for administering the Disabled Veterans Real Estate Tax Exemption. The motion carried unanimously.
The board recorded these personnel decisions in open session; commissioners directed HR to present finalized manual language for formal approval at a subsequent meeting.
