Janae Spence of Austin Watershed Protection told the committee that projects labeled A through AK in the distributed memo are being considered for the primary stormwater resilience bucket of a potential 2026 bond. Spence said partnership buckets will be reserved for opportunistic or developer‑led projects and that staff are coordinating with Capital Delivery Services (CDS) to ensure projects are sufficiently designed and costed.
Spence said transportation project scopes will include associated drainage costs so that roadway and drainage work are not funded out of mismatched bond buckets. CDS staff present said they are updating scopes and aligning funding for projects that relate to the 2016 bond and other outstanding work; an initial staff prioritization and recommendation is expected in mid‑December to early January.
Committee members asked about prioritization by need and whether older stalled projects (for example, certain West Slaughter projects) could be advanced; staff said prioritization work is ongoing and that the memo list is ordered by subproject number, not need. Spence said staff will return with a prioritized list and more granular funding scenarios tied to different overall bond amounts.
