Duchesne County Planning Commission elects leadership, approves schedule and minutes

At the Duchesne County Planning Commission’s annual organizational meeting on Jan. 7, commissioners elected new leadership and approved routine administrative items.
Commissioner Connie Sweat nominated Commissioner Terry Nelson to serve as Chair for 2026; Commissioner Annette Miller seconded the nomination and the commission voted unanimously in favor. Commissioner Terry Nelson then nominated Commissioner Annette Miller to serve as Vice Chair; Commissioner Connie Sweat seconded the nomination and the vote was unanimous. After the second vote, Terry Nelson assumed the role of Chair and presided over the remaining agenda.
The Commission reviewed and, by unanimous vote, approved the regular Planning Commission meeting schedule for 2026 and approved the minutes of the previous meeting. During roll call and introductions the Commission also acknowledged the appointment of two new commissioners: Spencer Turnbow (representing Tabiona) and Kevin Yack (representing the Roosevelt/Myton area). The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by then‑Chair Connie Sweat and adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
