Sioux County Board of Equalization approves property splits and conservation easement
Summary
Across spring and summer 2018 sessions the Sioux County Board of Equalization approved recorded exemptions for parcel splits, granted a building permit, approved a tax list correction and approved a conservation easement for Our Heritage Guest Ranch with the Nebraska Land Trust.
Acting as the Sioux County Board of Equalization, commissioners reviewed and approved multiple property actions during 2018 sessions in Harrison.
On March 1, 2018, the board approved Recorded Exemption #2018-1 (Douglas P. and Sandra Buckley) and Recorded Exemption #2018-2 (Finney Land & Livestock, Inc.) after noting both applications had been previously approved by the county planning commission.
On May 1, 2018, the board approved a Tax List Correction submitted for the Nebraska Game and Parks and granted a building permit for Wanda Clyncke. Motions on both items carried on roll call votes.
At the July 2, 2018 session Jean Norman and Dave Sands, executive director of the Nebraska Land Trust, attended and discussed Conservation Easement #2018-5 for Our Heritage Guest Ranch. The board discussed restrictions tied to the easement, reviewed that this is not an NRCS easement, and approved the conservation easement by roll call vote. The board also approved Recorded Exemption #2018-4 (Pavement Ends, LLC) to split 4.1 acres for a campground.
All approvals were recorded on roll call votes. The board’s minutes note that the underlying protest and permit materials are kept in the county clerk’s office and that decisions will be mailed to applicants as required.
