Price City Council approves three resolutions, appointments and routine consent items

At its Feb. 25 meeting the Price City Council approved three resolutions and a consent agenda covering appointments, procurement and community events.
Administrative Director Nick Tatton described Resolution No. 2026-1, which establishes a Military Veterans enhanced consideration in hiring policy intended to encourage veterans to apply for City employment; Councilmember Richard Root moved to approve the resolution, Councilmember Layne Miller seconded and the motion carried.
Tatton also explained Resolution No. 2026-2 authorizing Price City to file a Quiet Title claim for parcel #01-1791-0000 to address fractional ownership and probate-related clouds on title; Councilmember Tanner Richardson moved to approve the resolution, Councilmember Tina Urbanik seconded and the motion carried.
Council approved Resolution No. 2026-3 to authorize and approve an amended and restated power pooling agreement with the Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS); Councilmember Root moved approval, Councilmember Miller seconded and the motion carried.
On the consent agenda, the council approved prior meeting minutes, appointed Zack Tonc as Assistant City Recorder with a career-ladder promotion, accepted a $23,992 low bid from Southeast Fencing to replace the backstop on Baseball Field #1 (ZAP Tax funds), approved fee waivers for community events (including a Fuller Center event and Price Peace Gardens events for suicide-prevention activities), set a March 11 public hearing on the FY2025–26 mid-year budget revision, and approved several business licenses. The council also approved a request from Castle Country Acting Company (represented at the meeting by Caitlin Iverson on behalf of Emily Sanders) for auditorium use, a fee waiver and a key for Thursday practices; Councilmember Urbanik moved the auditorium fee-waiver motion and Councilmember Richardson seconded; motion carried.
