Price Council authorizes RFQ for NRCS-funded stormwater mitigation design and construction engineering

Price City will begin a request-for-qualifications (RFQ) process to select a qualified engineering firm to design and provide construction engineering services for a flood mitigation project funded through the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) program.
Public Works Director Miles Nelson explained the steps to secure an engineering firm and said the city had qualified for funding assistance under the NRCS program, but that the award amount was not yet known. Councilmember Layne Miller moved to proceed with the RFQ process; Councilmember Tina Urbanik seconded and the motion carried. The minutes do not record a dollar amount for anticipated NRCS assistance or a vote tally for the motion.
The RFQ will guide selection of design and construction engineering services; subsequent contract awards and project scoping will be subject to funding approvals and standard procurement rules.
