Trustee urges postponement of design-build action for HVAC upgrade

Dr. Kuka told trustees the HVAC design-build agenda item, posted Tuesday, required further information and said it would be his preference and recommendation that the board postpone any action on the HVAC upgrade.
"My preference and recommendation that we postpone any action with this," Dr. Kuka said. The chair responded that no immediate action was necessary to postpone the item; the transcript records no formal motion or vote to postpone. The board therefore did not take a formal vote on procurement method changes for the HVAC upgrade during the special meeting.
The exchange left the HVAC procurement matter in discussion status pending additional legal or informational follow-up by staff. The board moved on to consider the Pine Forest Elementary GMP after the discussion.
