VIDOR ISD trustees approve consent items, budget moves and nominations; property sales accepted 6-1

The VIDOR Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a package of routine actions and several notable items during its Oct. 13 meeting.
Trustees unanimously approved the consent agenda, budget amendments and transfers to close out FY 2024–25 obligations, and district and campus improvement plans. The board also nominated Philip Welch to the Orange County Appraisal District board and Amber Patterosi to the Jasper County Appraisal District board; both nominations passed by unanimous vote.
The board approved the hiring recommendations presented after a closed-session review; trustees voted 7–0 in favor. Trustees approved the district's FIRST (financial integrity) presentation and the report as presented (7–0).
In a separate action taken after executive session, trustees accepted the highest sealed bid of $520,000 from Orange County Building Materials Inc. for a package of four surplus properties (a former administration building, a former technology building, an unimproved lot at 285 Wilson St., and roughly 25 acres near Byrd Street). The motion to accept the bid passed 6–1.
